DIY Halloween decoration | 3 spooky autumn decors that radiate discomfort

Halloween is just around the corner! In Germany, the holiday is not too popular, but many people still want to create at least a little spooky atmosphere at home. DIY Halloween decoration ideas are always very welcome.
Lone Fox has many beautiful ideas for Halloween decor to make yourself, which cost little and are really easy to copy.

Bleak Halloween wreath spreads pleasant discomfort

The biggest challenge with this Halloween decoration is to find the right materials.
For the long elements that stick out around the outside, it’s best to look in a local decor store. You’ll need rather delicate branches that bend well. If you can’t find any, you can use ostrich or peacock feathers.
You can also bring the stronger twigs for the inner ring from your autumn walk. Just take a large handful of small, well-branched twigs that the last autumn storm blew down.

🛒 You need:
Wreath Frame
Soft artificial grass or feathers
Twigs
Spray paint matte black
Hot Glue Gun
Florist wire black

Spray the branches, grasses and feathers with matte black paint first.

The best place to spray the paint is out in the fresh air.

Let them dry and first drape the soft, very pliable elements on the outer edge of the wire wreath.

Once the outer ring looks good and is fixed, glue the harder branches to form an inner circle.

Let the wreath dry well and then hang it on the wall or door, where it elegantly and discreetly creates an eerie mood.

Make your own scary candles on a budget

Sure, black dripping candles are also available for purchase. But how about making it yourself for only a few bucks, instead of having to dig deep into your pocket for it?

🛒 You need:

Vases in cylinder shape, preferably different heights. Tip: check out your 1 $ store and find out which vases are available there.
Hot Glue Gun
Popsicle sticks Tip: start collecting them already in summer, they don’t take up much space!
LED tea lights. I love and recommend these tea lights, because they do not flicker like the cheap ones, but flicker realistically. They’re really worth the few extra dollars, especially since they’re also very durable and high quality.

You will need two or more cylinders, preferably of different heights. It does not matter if they are made of glass or plastic.

Apply the “flowing wax” with the hot glue gun. Work in several layers, always let it harden a little in between.

While the glue is hardening, paint the LED tea lights black. Do not paint the flame.

Cut 2 popsicle sticks per candle so you can clamp them in the glass. Their height should be in such a way that the tea light stands on them and the black surface is exactly at the same level as the edge of the vase.

Spray the vases and the popsicle sticks with matte black paint.

In one of the popular junk stores you should find a pumpkin made of cardboard or styrofoam

Cut out stars or other shapes from this pumpkin. If it is made of Styrofoam, you can simply work with a cookie cutter.

Mix baking soda into the color you want to paint the pumpkin. This will give it a high quality ceramic look. Of course, you can also just leave it orange and skip the painting.
